After AFF

A review of what you can do.

Training does not end with AFF. Next come jumps with one task each: stable exits, turns and tracking, canopy control and the awareness the A Licence asks for.

Finished AFF last month, abroad or years ago? The completion record, the logbook and recency come first. The route ends at the A Licence; after it, coaching with a clear goal.

The route

Licence Progression Route

Standard case: approximately 5 active jump days after the review; individually planned cases differ, and the total trip length is planned with you individually.

Overview

The route continues after documented AFF. Your records and skills decide whether you start the next stage straight away or refresh first; any refresher work is agreed as part of your individual plan.

Who it is for

Skydivers who have completed AFF and want to continue toward an A Licence, including after a break.

Requirements
  • 18 or older, with documented AFF completion
  • A logbook and whatever training records you have
  • The dropzone’s medical, equipment, insurance and currency rules apply
  • Any assessment or refresher preparation the review calls for, before you continue
Included
  • A review of your AFF completion, logbook and training records
  • The agreed progression jumps with the coaching and instruction they need
  • Ground preparation, briefings, debriefs and a look at your training video when there is one
  • The student equipment the included jumps require
  • Progress records and the standard programme paperwork
Excluded
  • Travel, local transfers, accommodation and meals
  • Medical certificate, personal insurance and personal purchases
  • Optional tunnel training outside the agreed programme
  • Anything outside your agreed individual plan
Outcomes

The goal is an A Licence. Finishing depends on the applicable requirements and your progress, so neither a date nor the licence itself is guaranteed.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

  • I finished AFF in another country. Can I continue toward an A Licence in Spain?

    Yes, after a review. Your AFF completion record, logbook and current skills are checked first; previous training is credited only after verification and within the selected dropzone’s rules. If you are ready, the progression jumps are planned; if not, refresher preparation is agreed before you continue.

  • How long after AFF can I still continue?

    There is no single cut-off. The longer the break, the more likely you will need ground preparation, an assessment jump or tunnel work before the progression jumps; the selected dropzone’s currency rules apply. Recency is one of the first things the review looks at.

  • Is wind tunnel training required after AFF?

    Not for everyone. After AFF, tunnel time is planned only when the review shows it will help, for example after a break. Optional tunnel training outside the agreed programme is separate.

  • Who issues the A Licence?

    The issuing organisation, once you have completed its requirements and it has accepted your application. The route includes the standard licence administration for the agreed programme, but neither the school nor Andrew issues the licence, and issuance is not guaranteed.
