Licence progression

From supervised student to independent skydiver. One connected plan from AFF to your A licence, built around responsibility rather than jump numbers.

The route

From AFF to your A licence

Pace depends on weather, currency and the time you can spend in Spain

6 stages

  1. Overview

The licence stage turns supervised jumps into an independent practice. You take over planning, preparation, equipment responsibility and decision-making one step at a time, with coaching beside you until each responsibility is genuinely yours.

Nothing here is a formality. Every requirement exists because an independent skydiver has to make good decisions without an instructor beside them.

  2. Who it is for

For students who finished AFF and want a structured path to the A licence — including people whose AFF happened elsewhere, or years ago, and who need the missing foundations rebuilt rather than repeated.

  3. Requirements

    Before this stage you need:

    • Completed AFF, here or elsewhere
    • A current medical declaration accepted by the dropzone
    • Your logbook and any previous training records
    • Enough time to jump consistently rather than sporadically
  4. Included

    • Personal jump planning and briefings for every licence requirement
    • Independent preparation and packing, coached stage by stage
    • Solo exits and skill jumps tracked against a written plan
    • Final sign-off and an honest debrief on what the licence does and does not mean
  5. Excluded

    • Travel to and from the dropzone
    • Accommodation and meals
    • Licence administration fees
    • Personal equipment purchases
  6. Outcomes

You finish with an A licence and, more importantly, the preparation habits, planning discipline and judgement to use it responsibly.

A licence is permission to continue learning. This stage is designed so you arrive at it already progressing, not wondering what comes next.
